Whispered interpreting (chuchotage) takes place directly in the meeting room without a soundproof booth. Use this contractual rider to establish delegate limits, acoustic boundaries, and prevent vocal fatigue claims.
1. Listener Capacity & Proximity Rules
1. Maximum Listener Allocation:
(a) Chuchotage shall be provided to a maximum of two (2) delegates seated immediately adjacent to the interpreter.
(b) If more than two delegates require simultaneous interpretation, the Client shall contract mobile ISO 4043 soundproof booths and wireless UHF delegate receivers.

2. Acoustic Environment Disclaimer:
Because chuchotage operates without acoustic isolation or amplification, the Client acknowledges that overall interpretation fidelity is subject to the ambient acoustic conditions of the meeting room. The Client agrees to position the receiving delegates in an area with clear auditory access to the primary speakers and away from air handling units or public doorways.
3. Session Duration & Fatigue Thresholds
3. Duration Limits for Solo Chuchotage:
A solo whispered interpreter may work for a maximum continuous duration of 60 minutes. For any meeting extending beyond one hour, a team of two interpreters in standard 30-minute rotation is mandatory to prevent vocal cord strain.
